Шелковская Валентина Михайловна

I have no right to die.

My father wasn’t killed in that terrible war.

He fought in the battle of Kursk with the rest
and was wounded right in the chest.
He could only whisper and nothing more:

“I have no right to die;
I should   live for the rest;

bring up the son,
build the house and do all my best”.

My father wasn’t killed in that terrible war
He was wounded in the battle of Kursk
and celebrated the victory in the hospital of Bobruisk,
dreamed about his wife and his son and no more.

“I have no right to die
I should   live for the rest;
bring up the son,
build the house and did all my best.”

My father wasn’t killed in that terrible war
built the house and did all his best,
but his wounded chest
“ordered his death” and nothing more.

It is so cruel to die in such way.
Everyone who survived in that terrible war,
should love and dream every day
for those who forever remained at their battle post.
