I was told some day that my dear great -granddad

Fought against the fascists in the second World War.

More than sixty calm years have already passed since then

But he’ll never forget awful days of that war.

Early morning of June nineteen -forty-one

Broke happiness, peace and the style of his life.

Then he went to the front as the others had done

To defend our country from the barbarian “gang”.

My  great-granddad was young, very brave at that time

And he wanted to struggle to save Motherland.

As a real devoted son of his wonderful land

He had joined the army to fight in the front.

He was courageous, bold and he hated the fascists

Who had come to destroy all that’s dear for him.

And that’s why many million people not thinking

Gave their lives for their happiest dream.

All the soldiers who were killed in the war

For the love, for the life and for me!

All the soldiers who saved our wonderful world,

We are thankful for that great Victory!
