Tell me, grandfather, about our soldiers brave.
About our sailors who fought on the wave.
About terrible battles on sea and on shore.
About the Heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
How partisans lived in the forest deep,
And fought days and nights without rest and sleep,
How courageously people their hardship bore
While fighting the Great Patriotic War.
Oh, tell me, grandfather, about the song our people sang,
The Victory song which triumphantly rang,
How we proclaimed the end of the War,
The desired end of the Great Patriotic War!
