It was the 22-nd of June

The whole world was in tune.

But at four o’clock

Came a very great shock.

It was announced everywhere

That people had to hide somewhere

And all the men from 10 to 55

Went to the front to make us all alive.

Our soldiers were brave and fought against the war

Explosions, bullets they could them just ignore

We had so many heroes of those days

Who were injured and wounded all their ways.

The fascist army was well-armed and very strong

And the war lasted one and a half thousand days long.

Russian soldiers wrote millions of behavior reports

And all those letters had the same vivid plots.

« I promise we’ll win and come back home

And we’ll live in peace and won’t be alone.

We’ll have many children and realize our dreams

Believe me, my dear I send you a kiss»

At last that terrible war came up to the end

And the whole German army had to capitulate.

Since then we have a holiday

It’s on the ninth of May

And we call it a holy Victory Day!
